Mal nebenbei beobachtet... / observed nearby

--:::--

Just a little observation,  recently in "the Indian" , although it might be difderent translated ... ;-)

At the next table there was a young man. He studied the menue up and down,  didn't seem to know everything too well (Indian restaurants are not as common here as in the UK)

when the waiter came,  he requested:

"I'd like something larger/bigfer than chicken curry,  but it has to taste the same!"

I quietly thought: "two chicken curries?" :-P

While the waiter was quietly grunting and sweating,  probably guessing if it was missing vocabulary on his side,  that nothing made real sense,  the young lad continued, after going again and again through the menue: "bring me a butter chicken".

The waiter went quickly,  possibly hoping for no more questions.

I hope it was enough,  he tucked in as if he got payed for it. The portion of butter chicken was the same size than the portion of chicken curry,  but... hang on,  somehow a butter chixken is chicken curry too,  isn't it? ...

  1. Hmmm I've seen butter curries over here. But I'm lactose intolerant so they aren't my friends! The husband likes it I think!

"two chicken curries" I laughed my socks off at that - great :-D

    1. Hehe ... hope you're not getting cold feet now ;)) we've had spice mix sachets with "butter chicken" where I don't know if it contained butter, (the hubs said no) and we used it, as said on the packet, for dhal makhani and it was soo great! Maybe you'll find something like this butter free mix one day, because it was delicious!!! I was told its a Singapore company, if you want to know details, I'll ask the husband again.
